Committees
The Government Affairs Committee is responsible for identifying local issues impacting the construction industry in Central Texas and candidates for office that support ABC Central Texas’ pro-business positions
The Membership Committee directs the recruitment and retention initiatives of the association. Each committee member makes personal contact with current and prospective ABC CTX members. The committee plans and facilitates the chapter’s business development socials, various events throughout the year and member outreach campaigns.
The Safety Committee is responsible for assisting ABC members to drive safety improvement, coordinating safety stand downs, communicating best practices to members, and assisting with safety events. The Safety Committee also assists with administering the chapter’s OSHA Partnership. This committee usually meets the second Thursday monthly.
The Chapter Workforce Development Committee serves to provide outreach to the high schools and post secondary schools that ABC sponsors through NCCER. The committee will collaborate to develop programs, presentations and public relations initiatives to promote the industry as a career of choice. The committee also provides input and assistance on professional development programming offered throughout the year at ABC.
The ABC Central Texas Events & Programs Committee will work alongside the Events Manager to organize and run all ABC-sponsored events and meetings. They will encourage member participation in these activities and support the Events Manager in bringing them to life. The committee will also help set event goals, define objectives, and track outcomes. Committee members can choose the areas they want to focus on, whether it’s logistics, hospitality, entertainment, or other event-related tasks. This committee is designed to be engaging and hands-on, offering members a central role in the planning and execution of ABC Central Texas events.
