Safety & Training

ABC's Safety Committee actively promotes safe work habits among ABC members in Hawaii. In addition, member companies are encouraged to participate in the ABC Safety Council, a professional interest group within ABC that brings together the safety officers from our member companies.

Each year our members to participate in ABC's Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program. Members conduct a self audit of their safety program in order to identify areas for improvement and to recognize achievements which are recognized by the Chapter and submitted to the National ABC program. The Safety Committee oversees basic safety training courses and seminars on special topics. ABC Hawaii offers safety training classes to members and their employees in a wide range of OSHA related topics, including:

First aid – CPR/AED
Hazard communications/right to know compliance
Respiratory protection
Confined space
Fall protection
Chemical specific training (i.e. chlordane, PCB)
Asbestos awareness
Lead awareness
