As an affiliated Chapter, ABC Hawaii supports the political objectives of the National ABC, as well as monitoring and providing member advocacy regarding legislative and regulatory issues in the State of Hawaii.
The Chapter's government relations activity is conducted through a Legislative & Political Strategies Committee comprised of active members who monitor legislative and regulatory issues and promote the Merit Shop Philosophy in the State. The President of the Chapter serves as ABC Hawaii's chief lobbyist.
- develops and coordinates the legislative agenda of the chapter
- plans image building activities that promote the positive benefits of selecting Merit Contractors
- oversees the Chapter's political involvement, including the ABC Hawaii Merit PAC and formal endorsements of political candidates
