Apprenticeship - How To Apply

1. Orientation

In order to be considered you must attend one mandatory scheduled orientation. Orientations are scheduled each Friday beginning on February 9, 2024 and runs through June 14, 2024.  They promptly start at 9:00am and last for about 45 minutes.  Simply call our office (808) 845-4887 or sign up Online for an Orientation.

2. Complete our Application

At your orientation, you will receive the complete ABC application to register for the next Fall semester. Applicants must be 18 or older and provide proof of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Electrical applicants must also include proof of completion of a basic algebra course with a “C” or better.

3. Employment and Training Process

Apprentices working in the trade will accumulate paid on-the-job training (OJT). These hours are recorded as a part of your apprenticeship program.  You will also attend school, typically two nights per week, to complete your theory and technical classroom requirements. You will earn college credits from Honolulu Community College.

4. Graduation

Upon completing the academic portion of your Apprenticeship program, ABC Hawaii invites you, your family, and co-workers to attend our annual Graduation Ceremony.  Normally conducted the end of May each year, this gala event is to celebrate your success and to wish you all the best in the industry. Dinner, drinks, and door prizes makes your graduation a memorial event you will not soon forget!
