A Little History
The Associated Builders and Contractors of Hawaii Chapter was founded in 1989 to represent Merit Shop contractors throughout the State of Hawaii.
Nationwide, ABC has over 24,000 member companies and 79 chapters representing every state. Having grown from its humble beginnings as seven contractors who met in a Baltimore livingroom in 1950 to discuss the shared belief that construction contracts should be awarded on merit to the most qualified and loest responsible bidder, ABC is now recognized as one of Fortune Magazine's 50 most influential national organizations. The Hawaii Chapter represents over 120 member contractors, suppliers and service providers throughout the State.
